What I Learned: Installation

This site is a continuation of a blog I created many years ago that centered around health and fitness. The site is named Yovegchi, which is my attempt in creating a word that combines yoga, veganism, and chi. Chi is the first half of my first name, and is also the name of a life force that when balanced, can lead to an enriching lifestyle.

This setup process was very eye-opening. I had learned about FTP, MySQL, domain names, etc. in past classes, but I really liked how this process rolled all parts together. This made me realize just how much that I have been learning does contribute to setting up and running a website.

I first created the Yovegchi name and then went to Tailor Brands to create my logo and decide on a color scheme that would bring my website to life. You can visit the about page: https://www.yovegchi.com/about/ to get a better visualization of our logo and color scheme.

The three themes I installed were: Pavilion, Mynote, and Juliet. I ultimately settled on the Juliet theme. This theme is colorful, aesthetically pleasing, and will work well for my health and fitness lifestyle blog. Though I’m glad I was able to find an appropriate theme, I was surprised to see how many themes were available through WordPress. This inspired me to reconsider my theme every other month in order to research the new themes that are available for my site.
